Wish Me Luck

As many of you may know I am currently undergoing training in hairdressing to be able to offer this service. I am really enjoying this and can not wait to be able to do hair for weddings and photoshoots etc
There is a competition being held at Truro College tomorrow and part of it is for Level 1 Hairdressing, which is what I am doing at the moment, so I thought it might be fun to enter!

So tomorrow morning I will be going up to Truro College with my model Lily Pickles and lots of other entrants from Penwith College to take part in this competition. My category is ‘Clubbing’ so Lily will be sporting an appropriate hair do for this category. I will also be styling Lily and doing makeup to complete the look..that bit I am not worried about :)

I am getting very nervous now but excited at the same time. I want to wish everyone that is entering good luck.
There is a catwalk show in the evening if anyone wants to come along, tickets are available from Truro College.

I will let you all know what happens.

A Handmade Wedding Fair

Today saw the Handmade Wedding Fair at The Old Brewery in Truro. Organised by Sarah Drew, it was a very relaxed day with lots of brilliant stalls for the Bride-To-Be.
I shared a stall with the fabulous Lily from Pretty Things From Pickle, she makes the most gorgeous button earrings and bead necklaces, bracelets and other sparkly items.
My eldest daughter Siobhan joined us at the fair to model some beautiful designer wedding gowns by Anna D’Souza, if you want a bespoke designer corset, skirt or accessory Anna is the one to see.
I did the make up for the 3 models wearing Anna’s dresses, Siobhan, Lily and Jasmine. All looked stunning in Anna’s dresses and accessories from Pretty Things From Pickle, Sarah Drew and Holly Young’s Hats.

There were delicious cakes, fabulous vintage crockery, photographers, pretty bunting and many more suppliers. Everyone had a fantastic day. It was a real pleasure to attend this event.

I will put some pictures up in the next couple of days so keep checking.

Thank you to Sarah for all the hard work that went in to make this a fabulous day for stall holders and guests

Wedding Makeup

On Saturday 8th May I had the great pleasure to do bridal makeup for Kate, two of her bridesmaids Jo & Amy and her mother Pat.
Kate opted for a simple yet elegant makeup as did the rest of the bridal party.
I want to wish Kate and her new husband all the best for their future and hope that you all had a fantastic day.
With the kind permission of Amy  who took photographs at the house, photographs will follow.

Busy, Busy, Busy

The last few weeks have gone so fast, I can’t believe we are in the second week of April already!
I have been up in sunny Brighton for the last week with my husband Simon, he was photographing the fantastic performances at Roedean stage school and DJ Jason ‘Phats’ Haywood. I was very pleased to do makeup for Helen Kimmerling of HK Management for her portrait shoot. Pictures to follow.

I have also been busy with bridal trials and fashion photoshoots. My favorite WED Magazine issue 13 will be on the shelves by the end of next week, keep an eye out for the fabulous features and of course my makeup skills in the features and front cover images :)

Yesterday I was at Simon Green Photography studios for a commercial portrait shoot with a difference. Two wonderful women who run tantric workshops came in for some new portraits for their website. Hilly & Sue were lovely to work with and I am very pleased with the sophisticated yet fun look they both went for. Again images to follow.
